The initial “meet and greet” helped to build a design profile geared towards the client’s specific goals. As a new restaurant in town, the goal was to design a look that would be original and to stand out amongst their competitors. The end result was to create a refined look and balance it with a “casual feel”. The branding design was then carried over to both web and print media to help with the client’s business needs.
Barkada’s logo is warm, simple and the tone is comforting, as the client wanted to create an inviting mood. It was used mainly in 3 variations amongst the different web and print designs. This can be seen as the Barkada written text logo, the restaurant crest, and the Barkada seal.
The website included many features to help promote their business. A jQuery feature was used to display the restaurant’s menu. The gallery and events sections were also tied into the Facebook page. The branding was then carried over to the design of the restaurant’s social media accounts for both Facebook and Twitter. This was to streamline the business’s image on all media platforms.
An email subscription feature was added to help build a customer contact list. This feature was then synced with the HTML Email Marketing feature what we setup for the restaurant as well. This was to help keep customers and potential customers connected with special promotions and the latest news.
The print design included a number of materials for the business’ marketing needs for both the restaurant and catering. These included customized business cards, restaurant menus, comment cards, table promos, take-out bags, stickers, and napkin rings.
